Heading to L.A. this weekend with Mrs. Lunchbox without the kids to see PuppetUp. (Woo-hoo!)
Already have reservations at Gwen but looking for anything else fun in Hollywood. We are staying at the Lowes Hollywood (on Highland) right behind the Dolby in the heart of Hollywood and we don't have a car but I'm willing to Uber too. Anybody got any recs?

Re: Los Angeles, CA
You’re right by Thai Town there. The heat was around Luv2Eat (godawful name, great food) pre-pandemic, and I had some awesome stuff there.
Chi Spacca is pretty close, and I think that place is right up your alley. (Also awesome.)

Chi Spacca has been on my list for a long time...
Thanks!

If you have some time to kill, check out a blog by MyAnnoyingOpinions.com. He's by far my favorite MN blogger. His wife's mom used to live near Thai Town, and he has a ton of posts about restaurants there. You may need to go back a couple years on his LA posts, as she moved to the south side

Re: Los Angeles, CA
It's been a few weeks since our trip but here's how it went down...
Gwen was awesome... Not much more to say, the pics say it all. Mrs. Lunchbox is sad that we missed Curtis cooking by a week. (He posted pics of himself cooking a few days after our trip.)

I really wish we had an Eataly around here. I'd probably be broke though.

Chi Spacca was a revelation. We tried not to over order. We did pretty good. We shared Foccacia de recco, Caesar salad, mashed potatoes, cream corn, and milk-roasted pork loin. The pork loin was probably one of the greatest meat dishes I've been served in a restaurant. Mrs. Lunchbox already bought me the Chi Spacca Cookbook for my birthday. I've been thumbing through it but haven't cooked anything out of it yet. I did get the corn creamer she mentions off of amazon though so hopefully I can recreate the cream corn because it's amazing. And it has no cream in it!

I usually hate L.A. but this was mostly food and lounging around the hotel room which made for an amazing trip. We also got last minute tix to "Company" which was awesome. I'd happily go back if every L.A. visit was like this one.
