Full Speed Chicken & Ribs
Re: Full Speed Chicken & Ribs
I'm content with the Roosevelt Row location since it's four blocks from my office. Today's lunch was the Southwestern salad with fried chicken at the maximum spice level, which is milder but more nuanced than Monroe's, and strawberry shortcake. The salad was so filling that I didn't have room for anything else after it, so the shortcake will be enjoyed as dessert after tonight's dinner.
Favorites from previous meals include the fried chicken biscuit and any of the ribs-and-chicken combo platters.

Re: Full Speed Chicken & Ribs
I've been a fan of Little Miss since the early days and this is close to work, so I had really been looking forward to Full Speed but unfortunately, my first visit left a lot to be desired.
I had put 24 minutes on my parking meter, thinking that was probably more than necessary (I was getting take out) but I wanted to play it safe. I was wrong -- it ended up taking almost 40 minutes to get one tender/rib combo plate and a biscuit. I think the biscuit was my downfall? I heard them tell someone with a large order that the biscuits were what were holding things up for her (I think they placated her with a gift card). No one ever offered me an explanation, though, or much of an apology. I'm just thankful I didn't get a parking ticket!
The chicken was a little tough, and was cold, even though work is about 5 minutes away. But it tasted good! The sauce on the ribs was too sweet for me (in future I'll get them without), as were the beans. That said, I found the beans kind of addictive anyway. Alas my other side, cole slaw, was nowhere to be seen and I had to go slawless. They also neglected to give me napkins or utensils (luckily I have extras of both in my desk drawer). The biscuit was good, but not 40-minutes-of-waiting good. I tried contacting them via FB about my visit but never got an answer (I now think it looks like they're more active on IG, but I can't be bothered anymore).
The food was tasty enough that I'll go back sooner or later, hopefully with better results. But I figured maybe I should wait and let them iron things out a little (I visited soon after they opened, back in early May).

Re: Full Speed Chicken & Ribs
I agree that the beans are too sweet. I hope they tweak that, but maybe that's how most customers like them. They were slammed the first few weeks. Things have settled down a great deal since the opening novelty has passed and summer heat is now upon us. I did have some long-ish waits during my first visit or two, but everything has been quick ever since.Bax wrote: ↑Sun Jun 23, 2024 5:11 pm I've been a fan of Little Miss since the early days and this is close to work, so I had really been looking forward to Full Speed but unfortunately, my first visit left a lot to be desired.

Re: Full Speed Chicken & Ribs
Unfortunately, Full Speed is permanently closing at the end of November.
