LaPan (no space) Thanks.

Yes, I've been down this road before. I do allow, however, some innovative takes. Lately it's been LaPanTor, LaPanda, or LaPots&Pans. I do open this up to y'all's creativity.

Try being named Suzanne and being called Susan. And when asked what's the difference? Like the difference between Tom and Tim. Between Rick and Roy. Between two syllables you can't fucking pronounce asshole. Oh sorry, I digress.

So it looks like seven of us for Al Zohour on Friday right now. Should I call some of our food selections in on Wednesday or Thursday once the head count is tightened up to reduce our wait time a bit?

I just spent a few minutes looking over the old Al Zohour thread and made a list of the menu items I really liked (translation - I skipped the offal dishes, lol). A * means they were a stand out dish for me. We probably won't get through all this list, and I'm completely open to ordering anything on the menu (including offal, lol) but it would be nice to have some things in the works when we get there. Let me know, Nerds :-)

*Roasted Veggie Salad - Bright and citrusy with preserved lemons. Must be ordered 1 day in advance (not on menu).

Lentil Soup - Simple and bright with pita chips for crunch (I believe she sends this out with every meal).

Kashkbademjan - Roasted Garlic spread, good with the warm bread.

Chevapi - Bosnian sausage "Moroccan style"

Mendi - Moroccan Lamb "pot roast"

*Lamb Tagine - Fall off the bone braised lamb with simmered prunes and almonds

*Bastilla - Spiced ground chicken in filo, sweet and savory. One bastilla easily serves 8

*Chicken Tangine - with Preserved lemon and olives

Kebessa - Lamb with spices

*Couscous - Lamb shank, veggies, very good! I think goat can be subbed for lamb

*Cod Tagine - Tomato, Preserved Lemon and bell pepper. Really a memorable dish.

*Kunafa - Must Have dessert. As Skillet Doux says "But oh my god, it's warm and sweet and soft and creamy and crunchy all along the outside, and the textures... plus a dusting of powdered sugar and pistachios. Do not miss this."

I won't know for sure until Friday morning (returning from a work trip Thursday night) but my votes would be bastilla, lamb tagine, cod tagine, and kunafa. If I can make it Friday it will be with baby too :D

All look like good dishes to me. I am down for some goat as well if we want to mix up some proteins. I worry after too many lamb dishes I may be baaaaaaahing on the way home.

So I've called the restaurant several times to pre-order some menu items for Friday and haven't been able to reach anyone. No surprise considering we all know it is a one-woman show, lol. So I'll "sacrifice" some time, "fall on my lunch sword" and "take one for the team" (ok I'll stop) by going over there today to order in person, and also eat lunch :-D

Ok here is what I ordered for Friday (one each):

Kashkbademjan, Roasted Veggie Salad, Lentil Soup, Chevapi, Bastilla, Couscous, Cod Tagine, Lamb Tagine, A special chicken dish not on the menu (Zohour says we will love it) and another special salad not on the menu (Zohour said we will love it), and Kunafa to share. If anyone else decides to join us we can add a goat dish or another chicken dish. Can't wait!!!!

Also the dining area is now about three times the space as it used to be so there will be no problem fitting a large table at lunch.
