The Gladly - Little Sister, All Grown Up

Here's the Main Thread for The Gladly.

From what I remember, everything that I read about The Gladly upon opening was that it is "Citizen Public House's sister restaurant". While that fact is technically true, I can't help but think that the younger is outpacing the older sibling.

I've been to The Gladly about 10 times over the course of the past year. The bar program is top notch (not too many other places in town that deliver 250+ whisk(e)y options) and the menu has the chops to match. Copying my format from the FnB thread, highlights have included:

Chicken Liver Pate (best I have ever had)
Madras Curry Pork Belly
The Original Chopped Salad (needs no explanation)
Pan Seared Scallops

The Gladly has taken an old, soulless room and transformed it into a convivial space full of life and great food. It's time for everyone in PHX to recognize the "little sister" has grown up.

Yes x100. Combine Bernie's food with that bourbon selection and you have a winner.

This place is close to home and has delivered great food at a solid price. I am certainly a fan. Not much of a drinker but I know EH enjoyed what she had, but this might have been the first drink she had since her ankle injury so that might have had something to do with it.

Either way great place.

Yes.

Love the scallops, love the brussels sprouts with grits (actually just love the grits in general), love their Manhattan and the Thai margarita. If not for my starving artist budget I would eat here WAY more often and try WAY more things.

One of my best meals of the past year was here. And that's good enough for me.

Pass the coconut pork belly. And get The Gladly on the list.

+1 for The Gladly.
It never disappoints. This is where I take my out-of-town guests.
(Well, until I discovered Tuck Shop, but that's for next year's FNA)

Oh geez. I've only had one meal there. The food was very good, but not amazing, and the service was neither. I'm not opposed to it being an FNA but not in full support. Probably deserving but I had a just OK experience there.

I wasn't sold on The Gladly at first either... Recent visits though have changed my mind. Service has been excellent. Food has been delicious. And the cocktails have been amazing. I back this 100%.
