After another excellent lunch yesterday at Al Zouhour of Cod Tangine, Bastilla and Lamb Couscous with fellow Food Nerds, I have to say this is my favorite restaurant in Phoenix and I could eat here three times a week. Chef Zouhour is a one-woman whirlwind of activity, and her dishes are exquisitely flavored and seasoned. I crave the Cod Tangine all the time. The roasted pepper salad (off menu) is a huge favorite, and the Kunafeh desert is not to be missed. I think Al Zouhour deserves a spot on the 2014Food Nerds Approved ticket, and I’m here to nominate them!

Oh man, this place. It might be my favorite place of last year. I have been many times and I have yet to come away where I was not stuffed to the brim, very happy, and carting out leftovers. My favorite nomination so far.

This place has no chance of NOT winning and it is well deserved. If only the speed was on par I think I could take anyone here. As it is, go here with time to relax and enjoy the great food and great company, you will not be disappointed. So I definitely am on board with this choice.

If I had only one vote to cast, it would be for this place. I quite literally have never had something at Al-Zohour that I didn't love. The bastilla there is superb and one of the best dishes in Phoenix, in my opinion.

I had a little poem going...Al Zohour, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways...but then Dom said I'd better nominate them or someone else would. So there. My poetry days are over.

Well, if you'd told me there was Al Zohour poetry imminent, I would have shut the board down until you were ready!

I would like to take this opportunity to point out that the two restaurants that are arguably the most beloved of our first two FNAs are both west of the 17.
