T-Day 2023 Megathread - Prep, Pride & Postmortem
It's crunch time, folks. What are your plans? Is the menu set? Are you bringing a dish or cooking the whole shebang? I'm really curious to hear what does and doesn't work for everybody. I'm cooking for six this year, and somehow "taking it easy" still ends up being turkey and gravy plus fo...

Re: Fatboy Sandos — Japanese Sandwiches at AZ International in Mesa
Well, this is interesting: https://www.instagram.com/p/CzupnpQrfYr/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== I'm actually a little skeptical about bringing in (presumably) frozen bread from overseas when you have at least two great bakeries making fresh shokupan right there in the nei...

Re: Milwaukee
Upon taking her first bite, Dr. Doux briefly paused, and then said, “I can’t believe this is a food.”
Wish I had more to contribute to the Milwaukee thread, but Solly’s is the best.

Re: The Stone Korean Tofu House - Soondubu in Mesa Asian District
Does anyone know the deal with the second location? The one in Mesa Asian District is The Stone Korean Tofu House and the one in East Mesa is The Stone House. They share a logo/signage, but I'm not sure how related they are. I think this was some kind of a family split, but that's hearsay. As you s...

The Stone Korean Tofu House - Soondubu in Mesa Asian District
My kid and I hopped down to the Mesa Asian District to hit up The Stone Korean Tofu House today, so I figured I'd get a thread started on this place. This has become a fairly regular fixture in our rotation. Definitely one of my favorite Korean joints in town, and not just because it isn't the usual...

Re: Hapa Food Co.- Best Kalbi in Phx
Best in town. Come at me! Ha! Well, despite the occasional professional obligation, I prefer not to dabble in bests. (And if I did, I feel like Sizzle's galbi might have something to say about it.) But yeah, this is absolutely one of my favorites, and Hapa Food Co. in general is probably my favorit...

Re: Sedona Recommendations?
Howdy, wcleveland, and welcome! I know your post has been hanging out here for a couple of days without reply, so I wanted to see if I can help nudge things along for you a little bit :-) PHXfn has been dormant for quite a while, so there's no reason you should have known. But a board like this, in ...

Re: Testal Mexican Kitchen
Seconded! Testal, interestingly, was a JBF long-lister this year, which kind of surprised me. But it's a great spot. testal-burros.jpg From left to right: Deshebrada, Colorado, Relleno, Picadillo. I particularly enjoyed the relleno. They just chucked a whole queso-stuffed chile relleno right into a ...
