Re: Naked BBQ

One thing on LMB (and not meant to jack Naked ((shouldn't use those two words together)) thread) ...and this isn't an answer to the problem if you want the dine-in experience. But we have done this for my office: from webiste: We offer pick-up at the restaurant between 10:00 -10:30 AM Tuesday-Saturd...

Re: Tratto

The only thing more tasty than the food was reading that review. The timing couldn't be better for the Republic to bring in someone to properly represent the evolving (Dom would probably have 30 better words) food scene in Phoenix. I imagine him agonizing over the wording of these reviews in much th...

We are really liking Gelato Spot on there...gets to the house perfectly frozen. Hits that nighttime sweet tooth craving and they are to our house within about 20 minutes. I've been using the Olympics as an excuse to eat bad and drink a little more and tonight shall be no different. After all, it's f...

Uber Eats

Saw it mentioned in another thread and was wondering how people are liking Uber Eats? We had an excellent experience from The Gladly where the famous salad and brussel sprouts were perfectly packaged and delicious as ever....have ordered it a couple times now. Also ordered from Gelato Spot with a la...

Re: Buck & Rider

They still have oysters half off....all raw bar half off....it's a smoking deal! I've eaten there three times for normal dinner and while I liked it better than some I've read, it certainly didn't blow me away. But for happy hour (and as someone who can down a couple dozen fresh oysters solo) it's t...

Re: Honor Amongst Thieves

I was there on Saturday night and thought the same as you in regards to the music. Definitely made conversation a challenge. I was with a great group so anywhere we went was going to be fun but if I just wanted to grab a drink solo, or me and my wife, probably would pass. Impossible to chat with the...

Re: Umami

Great to see Umami is opening up again near the same location! And a bigger kitchen will allow items like fried chicken? Sign me up! Dom's write-up shows that Lupin has been working with the crew at Chestnut to bring ramen there which should be interesting. I live so close that I want to like Chestn...

Re: Hummus Xpress

As mentioned above, it's probably not a destination dining sort of restaurant, but it is a solid choice if you are in the neighborhood. Agree with this...and a solid place if you want to stretch one lunch into two. I always have plenty leftover. It's hard to beat when you want to eat delicious but ...

SWC 44th and Indian School

So we finally know what is going in there: http://www.bizjournals.com/phoenix/blog/business/2016/04/smashburger-other-retailers-joining-sam-foxs-new.html I'm especially excited about the new concept from Fox. I know many here aren't fans but I love Fox restaurants. I'm also hearing the Chop Shop is ...

Nice write up today; http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/restaurants/naked-bbq-in-north-phoenix-serves-excellent-brisket-pulled-pork-and-smoked-turkey-8274334 I saw that in New Times and thought, "another place I heard about on food nerds first!" Going to hit it for lunch with some co-workers next week.

If any of you have not stopped by Arcadia Premium yet, you have to check it out. It is the perfect place to pick up supplies for hosting a little get together when you want your guests to think you're pretty cool because the food and drinks are interesting. The Delaware Fireball salami was outstandi...

I don't know if it's up there with the best but we've been door dashing the crap out of noodles ranch of late. Not sure I've ever been blown away by their pho but I've actually always found it to be consistent. The post earlier that puts it on the lighter side is spot on.

Re: The great pizza debate...

Was so happy this thread was resurrected yesterday. Reading it reminded me it's been too long since I've had Spinato's but remedied that last night. There isn't a pizza sauce in town I enjoy more. Normally I'm a 2-3 topping guy but with Spinato's i'm happy with just cheese (although we went half/hal...

Re: Portland

Got this in Eater email yesterday and brought back fond memories of my first time at Nong's. When the food came out it was quite possibly the most disappointed I had ever been in my life for something that had been built up as so great to me. Then I took a bite. Good piece on Nong Poonsukwattana and...

I live in the area and have driven by many many times - my sister lives in the condos next door - but I've always been a bit intimidated to go in. With these fantastic reviews though, I will definitely make a stop! Based on that user name I hope they are closed every time you attempt to go! (only k...
