I heard that the cooking staff from Szechwan Palace has landed at Asian Fusion Cafe in Tempe in that corner of Rural and University.
Good tip. I've mean meaning to check out AFC for a while, and this is yet another reason.

Mowry & Cotton

Mowry & Cotton has been one of my favorite places recently! More to come (most likely will be shamelessly stealing some photos from someone) but wondering if others have gone and what their experiences have been. The food is inventive and incredibly flavorful, huge patio to enjoy good weather, and o...

Re: Fellow Osteria

Have to say your review is pretty spot on. We went last Friday and concur Drinks execution was a little off. I was served my cocktail well before my wife received her wine. It was good but not great. We Enjoyed the octopus salad and arincini although we would have liked them to space them out a bit...

Fellow Osteria

Interested to see who else has tried it in its first couple weeks, and whether I just hit them while working out some opening kinks. The servers were lovely to us (especially to baby phxeater who we were reassured was more than welcome), and the space is really nice, just some noticeable execution e...

Re: Chou's Kitchen - Tempe, Tuesday 12.18.18 @ 11:30am

Mark me as tentative - I have a meeting that should wrap at 11:30, if it does I'll let everyone order without me and just be 10 minutes late. If it doesn't will have to be out. Will update an attendee via text as time comes!

It's next weekend :-)
I actually meant I am out of town next weekend! So I was correct in not being able to make it, just typed it wrong...this is why I'm not supposed to type before my morning coffee.

I won't know for sure until Friday morning (returning from a work trip Thursday night) but my votes would be bastilla, lamb tagine, cod tagine, and kunafa. If I can make it Friday it will be with baby too :D

Re: Wine country - focusing on Healdsburg

I'm returning to the happiest place on Earth, aka Wine Country. In the 6 years ( ) since I posted this I've been back once more and now we're returning for our first post-baby vacation!! We are definitely returning to a few favorites from my write-up: Merry Edwards , Papapietro Perry , and Z...

Re: Costco Food Court!

Re: Sous Vide Everything

There's already a pretty good sous vide thread: https://phxfoodnerds.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1270. Maybe can merge this with that one? Overall though I use my sous vide mostly for meat at this point. People do all sorts of wacky stuff but I think at some point they're just using the sous vide to sho...
