Has anyone had any success finding such a beast.
I normally order online from Heritage or D'Atagnan.

Share your experiences please.

No experience with any of these places, but the Republic had a pretty good article laying out some options about a week ago:

Local heritage birds seem harder to come by. If you want heritage, I think your best bet is Whole Foods. For several years now, I have been ordering a Turkey from The Meat Shop. They are processed the Saturday before thanksgiving and so they are fresh never frozen. I have been really happy with them even though they are broad breasted white and not heritage. They are raised on pasture.

Thanks for all of the help folks.
I should maybe clarify that it need not be heritage. I guess the better description is that I am buying with intention.
I'd rather not have the bird injected with anything because it would only get in the way of my cooking process.
I'd like to support farm-to-consumer and limit my grocery industrial complex purchases. (The Albertsons/Safeway/Kroger merger is offputting.)
My guests seem to enjoy that I can say a few things about the turkey, even if it's just very good farm marketing.
