The Pimp Your Project thread is a resource meant to help everybody keep track of community members' off-board writing and food-related projects, and to give people a place to share links to their work where it won't be disruptive to discussion elsewhere on the board. Please note that this is not meant as a public advertising space, but rather as a way to help active, participating community members share and follow each others' work. Also, while this thread is meant for quick links and updates, everybody is strongly encouraged to bring some of that outside content to the board wherever appropriate, so that we can all share in the discussion!

Updated review of unPhogettable. I first reviewed it four years ago and thought it was time for an update.

Great site, Natalie! So jealous of your photos. You'll have to give me the scoop on what gear you use, and some of your lighting techniques. How long have you been at it? You've got quite an archive of recipes.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks, Scott!

I use a mix between a Nikon d50 (I think) and (sadly) an iPad! (Sh don't tell anyone!) For lighting I try to use natural light whenever possible (we have lots of big windows in the house) but I do have a light box for when the lighting is less than cooperative.

I'm about to hit my 2 year "blogiversary" pretty soon (next month)

Prior to your post, the blog seems to have been inactive since August. Is it being revived?

Barbara - great post! I had never seen that video or heard the "creation story". But it really explains it well. When I found PFN I was just looking for hole in the wall places since I had discovered the beauty of dingy restaurants after my move out of Phoenix. Certainly never pictured myself socializing with strangers on an oddly constant basis over meals but hey, crazy things happen!

Yes, it is...as much as time allows for Pam and I, since we both work full time!

But please read some of the past ones...! :)

For those of you interested in the fine art of steaming and pureeing food for babies, I wrote a feature on making baby food in February's Raising Arizona Kids magazine.

I also do some contributing on their blog:

http://www.raisingarizonakids.com/2013/ ... lebration/

Not sure how interested anyone is in these topics, haha, but the first link does include a recipe for overnight steel cut oats (no slow cooker required). Because yes, I do find oatmeal to be exciting. :D

Barbara - Great story! Looking forward to reading more on your blog in future. Dominick - hope many others who don't personally know you (like me) will listen to the YouTube link Barbara provided from your Ignite Phoenix presentation. The passion you have is more than evident on this sight, but it really gave me a new perspective on the goals you have established and the community involvement you are trying to nurture. I also loved hearing Charlene Badman's presentation from the same event. I had no idea what background she came from and was really impressed with her honesty, humor, & wit. Her efforts to improve school lunch programs in the valley are making a difference :).

I asked Chris if they were having another not too long ago and he said that was the plan... I know the regular Ignite is coming up soon so once they're done with that maybe they'll start working on the food only version...
