I was looking at the Village Voice tonight and came upon this article discussing NY's top 20 dishes.

Is it just me or is this OTP pretentious? There's very little there that looks/sounds appetizing.

Hmmm...I don't know. I found it interesting and would actually like to try many of these dishes! I would think in NYC especially, something a little outside the norm is what is going to be more worthy of mention in a write-up like this. The sunchoke dish and okonomiyaki, in particular, grabbed my attention!

A few items look appealing, and some others remind me why I'm happy to live in a city where trends often arrive late. By the time those trends reach Phoenix, some of the less appealing ones have been either filtered or neutered.
