New Lom Wong concept?

Post by VinoSpumoni »

Anyone have an idea of the new concept Lom Wong is opening up? Saw a post on their IG story the other day looking for servers and bartenders.

It may be a replacement for Khla, the speakeasy-ish bar behind Lom Wong.

Such a shame. Khla was an excellent bar! The bartenders were fantastic. Great drinks. Lovely atmosphere. Hopefully they can replicate that elsewhere.

They had the best milk punch cocktail I've ever had there!

I like what I'm reading about the use of unexpected (at least to American palates) savory notes in cocktails. I recently enjoyed a Thunder's Pina Colada at Lom Wong that had not only the usual rum and coconut, but also a bit of fish sauce. It was sort of like drinking a boozy tom ka gai, and I'm not complaining.

Very intrigued and excited by the new concept!

A little off topic: Glai Baan does a wonderful cocktail called the laab sided. Savoury and delicious. You should try it out!

exit2lef - my fav drink at Lom Wong is Thunder's Pina Colada. I always start there and usually move to one of the wine. He always has great Riesling that pairs perfectly with the food. Can't wait to try the new drink menu at Mr. Baan's. Dustin was a fav bar tender of mine. Doesn't sound like we're getting him back here FT, but consulting on the menu means at least we get his drinks!

jayj - that's a killer drink too!

Seconded. That was one of Maxwell's concoctions, and it's been my favorite there since day one.
