Re: Hapa Food Co.- Best Kalbi in Phx

Oh man. Best ribs yet that I've had from them last week. The char, the marinade, the sweetness. Gotta go back soon. Such a great dish.

This place is just so f'n good. And they serve food late (full menu all the way up to 11pm), which has made for very happy post-show bellies after several recent events downtown. Last night was a simple and straightforward sharing session with Mrs. Lunchbox. We started with an appetizer that looked ...

Re: Downtown?

Ooh, and I heard that chef Bob Tam's Dragon Dumpling Burger is back on the menu at Bitter and Twisted . I haven't had it in years, but it used to be top of mind when discussing favorite burgers in town. OK so what's going on with B+T? We went a few months ago and the menu was all Jamaican Jerk Chic...

For Pizza: Pizzicletta

My kids ask to go back there for pizza all the time.

A great local coffee shop: Macys (Not the department store. )

Proper has great sandwiches.

Re: Uchi - What to Expect?

Funny, we went to Austin around 10ish years ago and tried to get into Uchi for a meal. But it was 2-3 years old at the time and it was like THE hottest restaurant in town at the time and we couldn't get in. Period. No tables at all. It's always intrigued me so I'm kind of excited to try the Scottsda...

Re: Tucson, AZ

Maybe a bit late now, but not far from the Loews hotel is Fiamme Pizza, we put it in our upper echelon of Neapolitan pizza. https://fiammepizzatucson.com/ Next time for sure. We love that hotel so I'm sure we'll be back... Here's where we wound up... We hit Rocco's Little Chicago on Friday night. W...

Re: Buqui Bichi (Downtown Phx)

The surprise was the Pizza al Pastor. Basically a cheese pizza topped with al pastor pork and pineapple (which they did not skimp on in this case) and a slightly spicy chipotle sauce base. Very thin, crispy crust which made the pie fairly light for all of the toppings. Definitely a nice Mexican-sty...

Tucson, AZ

Thinking of taking the fam to Tucson for the weekend. We have our spots but does anyone have any recs? Mrs. Lunchbox required that I make a reservation for Blues, Brews & BBQ Brunch Buffet at Loews Ventana Canyon but I'd like to explore a little more... Maybe put a Sonoran dog in my belly... I a...

Re: Hapa Food Co.- Best Kalbi in Phx

I'm here to pile on... Lunch at Hapa today was great. 7ED29836-3C5F-46F1-84AB-7E87CA1F521A.JPG I ate my weight in Kalbi. It's damn near perfect. The garlic shrimp are also, like Dom said earlier, ridiculous. I want to not like them but once you peel one out of its shell and get some of that garlic a...

Re: Patagonia, AZ

Thanks for posting this. We've tried to eat here a few times and every time we go it's never open, which is more our fault than theirs. (We have land in Elgin and we go hang out down there a couple of times a year.) Normally we get some killer pizza at Pronghorn Pizza @ Dos Cabezas Winery.
