Re: Temptations Cafe

Reggie did mention that the Sylvana is originally from Manila, although the ones at the cafe here are made differently after his experiences in France.

Temptations Cafe

My daughter and I stopped by the Temptations Cafe after an early morning of birding down in the Southeast Valley, prompted by the recent visit by Saturday Faturday . The Cafe is located just across McDowell from the old Motorola Government Business headquarters, now General Dynamics Mission systems,...

Re: Can we talk about Taco Chelo? [DTPHX]

I agree with JayJ's point regarding the chicken and the vegetable tacos. Really outstanding tacos, a head above the rest on the menu.

Arizona Restaurant Week

Are there any opportunities during the upcoming Arizona Restaurant Week which are such a strong option that we should not miss?

Re: Bar Cena

This is a pernicious bug that I am trying to fix. Many cameras/phones tag photos with the correct orientation rather than actually rotating the image. phpBB is reading the image, but NOT the tag, so it’s posting the images in the orientation they were actually shot. I thought I had it nipped and pr...

Bar Cena

We have enjoyed the Hush Public House in the past, so this weekend we tried the next-door neighbor that shares a kitchen, the Bar Cena. Formerly the two places were more open to each other, but recent remodeling restricts movement back and forth to a small door toward the back of the respective loca...

Re: Taco Papi, No Sco

Motivated by Derg's post, and also late getting together with nothing much planned otherwise, the girls and I visited Taco Papi's to sample their stuff. Unfortunately, by the time we arrived they had sold out of their Paneer tacos. Fortunately, we were able to order the Chicken Tikka Tacos on wheat ...

Bad Jimmy's Burgers

We stopped at the physical location of Bad Jimmy's today for lunch. The building is a nice use of an original building, right down in amongst many, many other eateries and bars at 108 E Pierce St, Phoenix, AZ 85004. The right half is a small counter-service burger joint, the left is a small bar, eac...

Re: The Eleanor — A Worthwhile Brunchy Spot near OT Scottsdale?

We thought the service was good, and the food also met our expectations. I also appreciate that they re-purposed and re-modeled the existing building, incorporating several architectural items like the stone walls rather than knocking it down and building a white shoebox slap-dash against Hayden Roa...

Here is what the Ebi Bowl (shrimp cakes over rice) looks like:

The bowls are very filling, much like the sandos.

Also, the Furikake Fries are now served as wedges instead of waffles.
